E3 2016: Indie Game 'Fe' Might Be EA's Best E3 Reveal This Year
Jazz RosinElectronic Arts has recently announced its new indie program, EA Originals, during its media presentation at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3.
The EA Originals initiative aims to aid small but promising indie game studios, and help them get into the market and publish their works. The publisher might be hoping to follow the success of last year's indie title, puzzle platformer game "Unravel", developed by Coldwood interactive.
Today at its press conference, EA Studio Executive Vice President Patrick Soderlund revealed their first project under the EA Originals initiative. The game is a 3D platformer named "Fe," which is developed by Swedish indie game studio Zoink Games, according to Destructoid. The word "Fe" means fairy in Swedish.
Zoink Games is also the same developer who worked on "Zombie Vikings", "Stick It To The Man" and mobile game "Adventure Time: Rock Bandits".
Zoink Games' Klaus Lyngeled presented the game in front of hundreds of people at this year's EA Play. Lyngeled described "Fe" as "a personal narrative about our relationship with nature".
"It's a story that reminds us that everything in this world is connected." Lyngeled added.
"Fe" will be about a little dark creature who is tasked to explore a dark forest. To be able to conquer the forest, the creature must learn the songs of the different flora and fauna in the land.
EA also announced that while the game publisher will be helping out indie studios with their games, it will not take any share of the profits, meaning all the game's earnings will go directly to the developer.
The game's reveal on E3 garnered mostly positive responses on both Twitter and on Youtube, with some people saying that it was one of the best games announced on E3 so far.
Indie game studio Zoink Labs has expressed its gratitude for the great reception "Fe" has received. "Thank you everyone for all your kind words about our game - Fe," the budding game studio said on Twitter. "We're overwhelmed. You are all so kind! Thanks!"

Neither EA nor Zoink Labs have confirmed a release window date, and there is also no word about which platforms will the game be playable on at the moment.
