Following the prior trends, Google will allegedly hand over development and production of the Google Nexus 2016 to the Taiwanese Android manufacturer HTC.

The Nexus sets made by HTC are presently being tested with Android N, and they have a full implementation of the much rumored pressure - sensitive touch display, reported Gizmo China.

There have been quite a few hints that Google was all set to launch the pressure - sensitive touch display with Nexus 2016, as Google developers have commented previously about the feature.

However, Huawei might not be returning as a developer of Google Nexus this year, as the source will be 100% HTC. Sources said on Chinese social network Weibo that HTC will make both a 5in and 5.5in Nexus phone inside 2016.

Notably in 2015, Google launched two Nexus models: the 5.2-inch Nexus 5X and the N5.5-inch Nexus 6P, which were built by LG and China's Huawei Technologies Co.

Meanwhile, PC Advisor has mentioned that Google Nexus 7 will be unveiled in September this year, when the final version of Android N has been launched.

While Google has yet to confirmed if it is about to debut a new tablet sometime this year, talk about the new device started last year following a Trusted Reviews interview with Asus chairman Jonney Shih.

Although Shih did not reveal the two companies they are working with, the chairman of Asus has mentioned.

However, Huawei has not confirmed whether they will be manufacturing the Nexus 7 2016. Huawei's public relations representative has been in touch, on the subject, saying, "We don't comment on future projects, as a matter of policy."

If the Nexus 7 is released this year, it is expected that the device will have a 7-inch Quad HD display, MicroSD support up to 2 Terabytes, and it is estimated to cost around $280.
