The Moto X is rumored to take Lenovo's name to a higher level. The company teased the possibility that the new smartphone from the X series would offer a new experience to users because of the addition of top-tier specs.

"Moto X and Moto Z do share some great qualities, but they ultimately provide different experiences and make our portfolio more robust for consumers looking for the perfect smartphone to fit their needs," said Lenovo's official statement, as reported by GMS Arena. The statement also teased that the upcoming Moto X 2016 device would be mid-range instead of a flagship smartphone.

There were earlier rumors that Lenovo would discontinue the Moto X series after it launched the new Moto Z lineup. However, the company brushed off all the speculations, stating that they will continue the X series with exceptional features.

Morning News USA reported that the new device from Lenovo is expected to feature a 4.6-inch full HD display powered by an octa-core Helio 10 processor with 3 GB RAM. It is reported that the processor in the upcoming Moto X device would consume less power as compared to its predecessors and would save up to 30 percent of battery.

Moreover, the Moto X 2016 would also sport Mali-T860 graphics card, which would provide excellent 3D graphics performance with the facility of 32 GB internal storage, which would be expandable via a micro SD card.

On the other hand, the upcoming X-series smartphone reportedly consists of a 16-megapixels rear camera and an 8-megapixels front-facing snapper.  Breathe Cast claimed that the Moto X 2016 device would be made available with the updated version Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with the possible upgrade option for the upcoming Android N OS.

Despite the trending rumors about the Moto X 2016 smartphone, there is still no official update on the probable release date of the device.
