'Diablo 4' In The Works? 'Diablo 3' Director Leaves; Blizzard Looking For New Director For 'Unannounced Project'
Jazz RosinBlizzard Entertainment just posted a job opportunity for a new director for an "unannounced project" on their website.
The game company giant is currently looking for a game director to "lead the Diablo series into the future," according to its job posting.
The future game director should be ready to become "the vision holder for the franchise," and will be responsible for coaching and guiding team members, maintaining an "awareness of global player behavior and customs" and establishing and maintaining "a creative environment".
Aspiring applicants should obviously be knowledgeable and passionate about Diablo games. A minimum of five years video game directing experience is also a must, and should already have multiple AAA products under their belts.
The announcement was made following Josh Mosquiera's departure. Mosquierra joined Blizzard in 2011, and was the game director for "Diablo 3" prior to his exit.
"With Diablo III in a good place at this point, Josh felt that now was a good time to pursue other opportunities with minimal impact to the team," a Blizzard rep told Polygon in an email.
"Josh made many contributions during his time here, and we loved working with him. We wish him all the best and look forward to his future work." Blizzard added, according to PC Gamer.
Mosquiera took to social media site Twitter to express his gratitude to the Diablo team and the community, and "Diablo" fans left heartwarming messages of thanks on the game director's post.
Thanks to an amazing team and community! Forever #diablo

PC Gamer also speculated that the "unannounced project," which is highly likely a new "Diablo" game, may not be the usual action-RPG experience, pointing out that the newly hired director must "maintain an awareness of global player behavior and customs to ensure that design decisions are relevant for international regions."
"Diablo 3" was released for Windows and OS X consoled on May 15, 2012. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions were launched in September 3, 2013, followed by the PS4 and Xbox One versions in August 19, 2014.
