For those awaiting the latest update for Google Android, some of you are in luck, as Android v.4.0.4 is now rolling out to selected handsets. We have been expecting the new update to make an appearance sooner rather than later, and now it's here slowly making its way to every Android device Google has listed for the update. The latest update is not filled with features, but what little it brings is still good enough to go through the hassle of updating your phone.
Google has added over 100 tweaks and improvements to Android Ice Cream Sandwich v.4.0.4 over the previous version. The most notable improvement will be the speed of the OS - navigating your device will be much faster than before. This is a great achievement by Google since the previous version was quite fast. We were never expecting any form of speed enhancement, especially one that is noticeable.
Other features include better stability and camera support, faster screen rotation, which goes hand in hand with the overall speed improvements, more support for exchange, and improved photos.
Nothing truly exciting, but for even just the new found speed and camera support, we think everyone should take the plunge and get the latest version of Ice Cream Sandwich on their handsets.
Speaking of handsets, Google stated Android Ice Cream Sandwich v.4.0.4 for the time being will only be rolling out to the Motorola Xoom WiFi, Nexus S UMTS/GSM, and the Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ variant. No word on users with other compatible devices will see the update being pushed to them. So for the time being, we suggest scouring the XDA Forums for a possible ROM to install on your device. Well, that is if you are tech savvy enough to go through with something like that.
If you have Android Ice Cream Sandwich v.4.0.4 on your device, tell us in the comments how well or bad it is working out for you.
