‘Titanfall 2’: More Of 'Street Fighter' Action And Titan-Person Relationship; Release Date Set On Oct. 28
Jenia GraciaRespawn Entertainment has locked in on a release date for Titan Fall: Oct. 28, 2016.
Initially announced as a Microsoft exclusive, the highly-anticipated first-person shooter game will now be available on the PS4, Xbox One and PC, according to Trusted Reviews.
Based on a leaked trailer of the game, it promises to be action-packed and will explore some interesting concepts such as the Titan-person relationship.
"Titanfall 2's" main protagonist is reportedly named Jack Cooper, a rifleman who inadvertently finds himself in possession of a Titan after the giant robot's original pilot is killed.
This is where the game's storyline unravels, as the trailer reveals that a Titan can only have only have one pilot.
Asked why Jack was given access by the Titan, the metal behemoth replied that it was the only way to win the war.
It seems that "the producers of "Titanfall 2" are confident in choosing the game's release date, as its roll out runs smack in the middle of "Battlefield 1" and "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare."
The two titles are considered by players as among the year's biggest shooters.
But from all indications, the game offers more than the usual fare dished out by similar titles of the shoot-ii-out genre.
As the trailer has suggests, the Titan featured in the game's latest iteration has more personality than the ones in the earlier version.
Moreover, the gameplay of "Titanfall 2" includes various foes, huge dropships and alien dinosaur creatures, which means that players will be treated to a wide variety of action sequences when the game's release date comes.
In an interview with the Guardian, the game's producer Drew McCoy explained that their goal in Titanfall 2 is to make the machines appear more visually distinct than their predecessors.
"In the previous game, when you went up against a titan you didn't necessarily know what its load out was and what the fight was going to be until it started," McCoy said.
"Titanfall 2 has more of a Street Fighter kind of feel - if you see Scorch, you know who he is and how to approach the combat," he added. "The fights are more strategic and therefore more meaningful."
"Titanfall 2's" release date is expected to be one of this year's major gaming events.
