Reviews of the Nikon D500 have been short of excellent.

Photographers have a sure winner in their hands as the D500 boasts of a solid-build quality, great autofocus, vastly improved ergonomics, and a touchscreen at the back side.

Moreover, the camera has a dedicated joystick for changing AF points, includes Wi-Fi connectivity, and possesses a battery life that will allow you to cover all your shooting assignments and much more.

"It's such a good camera that I think it's an overkill for a lot of people," Phoblographer wrote in its review.

Shutterbugs who have done reviews of the D500 have taken note of its outstanding features as well.

These include its 20 MP, 23.5 x 15.7 mm,  APSC-DX format sensor, ability to handle various storage media types (SD, SDHC, SDXC, XQD type memory), and a top continuous shooting speed of 10 FPS per second.

Furthermore, the camera has an ISO sensitivity of 100 - 51,200, which can also be set to 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 or 1 EV below ISO 100.

The D500's monitor is a 3.2 inch (diagonal) touchscreen with a 170 degree viewing angle. It comes with an EL-EN 15 Lithium-ion battery.

The Nikon D500 brings many of the features of the DSLR's flagship body to a comparatively smaller, lighter and more affordable form, making it ideal for sports, wildlife, and event photographaphy.

The camera review site noted that the D500 is the long-awaited successor to Nikon's previous high-end DX body, the D300s, which was launched six and a half years ago.

The D500 improves on all the features of the D300s, making it a must-have for users of that series, especially D7x00 owners who want a tougher, faster and more sophisticated body without spending a small fortune for a full-frame system.

These reviews are expected to finally convince the undecided to purchase the Nikon D500.
