Canon 5D Mark IV Rumored Specs Update: Possible Release Date In August
Jazz RosinAn updated rumored specs list for the much awaited Canon 5D Mark IV was recently posted on a Canon fan forum. With field testings well underway, would an August release date be possible?
A post on dedicated Canon forum site Canon Rumors has just spilled the beans on the camera's rumored specifications.
According to the list, the Canon 5D Mark IV will feature CFast and SD card slots with a DIGIC 7 Image processor, reported Planet 5D. The blog site went on to speculate that both of these upgrades would possibly lead to some specs beyond the 4K video and increased resolution.
While the DIGIC 7 Image Processor is still virtually unknown, it is sure to be a few steps up from Canon EOS 5D Mark III"s DIGIC 5+.
The addition of the Cfast memory cards would also be a huge cost for videographers and cinematographers, provided that it is required for the 4K video modes for the MK IV.
A 128GB Cfast card would cost more than $300, and for camera enthusiasts who would need more than 128GB, this will definitely burn a hole in their pockets.
In terms of price, the Canon 5D Mark IV is rumored to go for $3,600, which was the only letdown in the list, according to Canon Rumors users. Some even speculate that the camera will go for much lower than that, putting the price range between $3000 to $3300.
Here are the rumored specs as per Canon Rumors:

DIGIC 7
ISO 100-51200 (204,800)

4K video

Price: $3600

Canon's next camera is expected to be announced towards the end of August, according to multiple sites. There are also reports that the Mk IV is already out for testing since last year, and it could just be a matter of time before it is available for the public.
