'Mass Effect Andromeda': Besides Release Date, Fans' Interesting Romance Mechanics Requests Discussed
C. de Lacy"Mass Effect Andromeda," just like every "Mass Effect" game from Bioware, will include romantic features in the game. Reports before stated that this feature will be improved, but some fans to be more particular with it. Read on to see if this is agreeable.
Aside from "Mass Effect Andromeda" release date, one of the most commonly discussed topic among fans right now are the features, particularly the romance options.
Last month, IGN reported that "Mass Effect Andromeda" will likely be revamping the romantic options in the game. People from Bioware lead by Creative Directer Mac Walters must have felt that the need to the "relationship" needs to be taken to the next level literally.
"In the past we've been very, eh, I'd say somewhat formulaic in the way we presented them. We're trying to look at more organic ways to have those relationships evolve," Walters told IGN.
In a recent post on bioware's official forum, user JasonPogo voiced out his/her opinion regarding the feature, which attracted some attention.
"Unpopular idea. Fewer romances but deeper romances."
The original poster simply showed how Bioware is "stretching" the romance feature in the game, making it appear shallow. It could be noticeable that romance with previous "Mass Effect" games didn't have that significance in the main story.
According to the post, this feature might be salvaged by cutting romantic options into fewer numbers and having them actually tie-in with the game's main story flow.
"Just little things but, as the game progresses, have other characters comment on your romance in a normal run of the mill main plot cut scene. Have things change in the main plot if you are in a romance. It does not have to be earth shattering stuff.." - JasonPogo stated.
It is worth noting that an interview with Mac Walters indidcates that the romance feature and even the companion relationships will be greatly improved.
Here's a quick rundown of the review summarized by user named Fogg:
- Relations will be more realistic, they will evolve more organic
- Romances will no longer be choosing the flirty dialogue options, which lead to a romance scene after a while.
- This also applies to non-romantic relations with squadmates, they too are more dynamic
Some agree, while others don't with this proposition. Stay tuned for a solid update on "Mass Effect: Andromeda" release date and gameplay.
