Google Nexus 2016 Rumors: New Specs Leaked; HTC Now Working On The New Device?
Jenia GraciaFor quite a while now, several consumers have been on the look out for new Google Nexus 2016 rumors, especially that it has been reported that HTC is producing it.
What could be the status of Google's plan to produce its own mobile devices? How competitive would it be compared to those produced by Apple and Samsung?
Could it possibly keep up with competition? What particulars features and specs that would make it stand out?
In its report, The Telegraph revealed that Google is already in talks with mobile operators about the release of its Nexus 2016 device.
Accordingly, the American multinational tech company has put more of its hand in the design, manufacturing and software of the upcoming mobile unit from them.
Since the highly-anticipated phone brand comes from a company that specializes on internet-based products, it is reportedly expected that it will boast of a feature wherein Google can control its software and in providing the most necessary services in the future, including its search engine and app store - two of the widely-used apps Android phone users.
As narrated by an analyst about the upcoming Google Nexus 2016, the company is "concerned that Android is fragmenting, that it needs to become a more controlled platform."
"I think they'll seek to control it more, more like Apple," CSS Insights' Ben Wood added.
In the meantime, GSM Arena reported that a build file of the rumored Nexus Sailfish leaked and it suggested that it will come with Snapdragon 820 and 1080 display.
Based on the Sailfish build file which Evan Blass (@evleaks) shared on Twitter, it appeared that the new phone's internal settings and configuration values are pointing to "'ARM64-V8a' and 'msm8996' strings, which point squarely at Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC."
Meanwhile, it was theorized that the Google Nexus 2016 device will be released towards the end of this year.
