The North America Playstation store recently revealed the re-release of the third-person survival horror classic "Resident Evil 4" for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It is said that it will be running in full HD at 1080p and in an increased framerate.

After numerous remasters, releases, and compilations, "Resident Evil 4" is still alive and kicking and more so with its upcoming release for the current generation consoles.

Priced at $19.99 and taking up around 8.5 GB of HDD space, "Resident Evil 4" could be another addition to gamers' collections, but more importantly, what exactly does "increased framerate" means?

Here's how it is described on the PlayStation store:

"Resident Evil 4 arrives on PlayStation 4 in full 1080p HD with an increased frame rate. This revolutionary masterpiece represented a turning point for the series as it brought the gameplay to a third-person over-the-shoulder perspective for the first time. Featuring a thrilling storyline taking place after the destruction of Umbrella Corporation, Resident Evil 4 not only changed the course of Resident Evil, but influenced countless other titles as well."

As evident in the comment sections at PlayStation Lifestyle, a lot of players are already aware of the revamped resolution and the framerate of the "Resident Evil 4" on the previous-gen consoles namely Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The PS3/360 version run on 720p and in variable framerates around 30. The ultimate edition for the PC never had a problem with framerates going below 60. The blurry textures can be easily fixed with custom fan-made textures.

With the 1080p resolution confirmed, what we only need to wait for is how the actual textures will look like in-game and the framerate as nobody from Capcom nor from PlayStation store specified any figure.

"Resident Evil 4" game is scheduled to be officially released this coming August 30 and it may be wise to wait and see actual screenshots and gameplay videos first before buying it. Especially for those who have missed the beefed up graphical muscle that PC owners experienced with the game a few years ago.
