New Official 'Pokémon GO' Tracking System By Niantic To Replace Three Footstep
C. de LacyPlayers of "Pokémon GO" had been disappointed with Niantic's move with removing the three step feature for tracking nearby pokémon. The good thing is, it would seem like the company is replacing it with a better one to remove the need for third party tools.
"Pokémon GO" is currently doing a trial of a new feature, which is to be included soon officially by Niantic to its game. However, not all players will get the feature as randomly selected players will only have access to it.
Here's Niantic's official statement on its Facebook page:
Trainers,
Pokémon GO has been updated to version 0.33.0 for Android and 1.3.0 for iOS devices. Below are some release notes and comments from our development team.
-Added a dialog to remind Trainers that they should not play while traveling above a certain speed. Trainers must confirm they are not driving in order to continue playing.
-Made improvements to the accuracy of a curveball throw.
-Fixed a bug that prevented "Nice," "Great," and "Excellent" Poké Ball throws from awarding the appropriate XP bonuses.
-Fixed achievements showing incorrect Medal icons.
-Enabled the ability for Trainers to change their nickname one time. Please choose your new nickname wisely.
-Resolved issues with the battery saver mode on iOS and re-enabled the feature.
-Added visuals of Team Leaders Candela, Blanche, and Spark.
-We're currently testing a variation of the "Nearby Pokémon" feature with a subset of users. During this period you may see some variation in the nearby Pokémon UI.
-Minor text fixes
We hope you enjoy this new version and please share your feedback!
The Pokémon GO Team
Those who fortunately good the new feature will see the two Pokémon tracking sections on their screen called "Nearby" and "Sightings."
Nearby is for Pokémon spotted by other players near Pokéstops. According to Jackson Palmer, the creatures just sit by next to the stops.
There hasn't been much explanations as to how Sightings work, but some people who had the feature said that it was similar to the former Nearby feature.
Hopefully, these important updates are rolled out globally soon enough so that players won't have to resort to third party tools, which ends up making players unknowingly cheat the game.
Stay tuned for more updates and news about "Pokémon GO."
