The long wait is almost over. The third season of Adult Swim's hit animated science fiction sitcom "Rick and Morty" is finally confirmed to return before the year ends.

In an interview Vulture, series creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon revealed that "Rick and Morty" season 3 is intended to be released at the end of this year, squashing unending speculations that the series will premiere this August.

It appears that the third season of "Rick and Morty" will see the stakes getting higher as the characters are now set to confront yet even greater challenges. The creators even teased fans that the upcoming season will be the most epic season so far, as it is stacked with a lot of twists and turns.

Although in-depth details are being kept under wraps for the time being, fans were treated to a mini-episode about Summer's future. The four-minute episode begins with Spencer Grammer, Ryan Ridley, Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon sitting together, as the latter presents the principle of the short episode.

The story follows Morty's sister asking for Rick's help with respect to her school application. With this, Rick decided to infuse Morty's knees with 120cc of feces.

As a result, the Harvard's Dean of Admission, who was awed by Rick's experiment, gave Summer a full scholarship to the university. Ironically, the experiment testing caused Morty's death.

"I just want to meet Vin Diesel," said Don Harmon, referring to their dream guests for "Rick and Morty" season 3, as cited by iTech Post. "I know he plays D&D so I just want to have a conversation with him about doing it."

In a separate interview with local reporters, according to ShockYa, Justin Roiland admitted that they are still figuring out how to feature more Interdimensional Cable episodes in the series. He stressed, "It is very rough on production. It is not an easy episode to make."

Stay tuned for more updates as "Rick and Morty" Season 3 premieres later this year on Adult Swim.
