No Macbook Air in 2016? Apple Focusing On MacBook Pro Only?
Dheeraj RThe recent rumors hinted that Apple might have officially stopped the production of the MacBook Air series. Reports claimed that the company is planning to focus on other devices like the Pro series and smartwatches in 2016.
The MacBook Air 2016 laptop will reportedly not be launched as the company has not properly updated the series for many years. It is also stated that Apple launched many devices over the years like the 13-inch Pro and the Retina MacBook, which have completely overshadowed the Air series notebooks.
Game N Guide reported that the company will not release an update for the MacBook Air device in 2016 as they are planning to release a new version of MacBook Pro device along with Apple Watch 2, iPhone 7, iPhone 8 and other software upgrades this year in order to increase their revenue.
There are reports that the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 will sport a slimmer and lighter build with overall design upgrade. In terms of hardware specs, the new device is expected to consist of four type-C USB ports with the MagSafe power connector. It is also stated the new MacBook Pro will also feature a headphone jack with an updated Apple Pencil.
Furthermore, reports claimed that the upcoming Pro series laptop will sport a 5K Thunderbolt display with enhanced AMD Polaris graphics processor. Rumors hinted that the new MacBook Pro will be powered by a Skylake processor with 8 GB RAM and 1 TB of internal storage.
In terms of software specs, the latest variant of the MacBook Pro will sport the upcoming macOS Sierra, which will introduce the personal assistant Siri to the desktop.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Apple will launch the latest MacBook Pro in September 2016 along with the iPhone 7 at the company's event. However, no official confirmation has been provided by the technology giant.
