Anticipation of HTC One X has gone through the roof. The recent news is that HTC One X is coming to AT&T on May 6. HTC fanboys can mark May 6 on their schedule as a day to buy One X as this time, it is the official launch date and not a rumored one. HTC is pricing the phone at $199.99 on a two-year contract terms. After the release, One X is going to be the first Ice Cream Sandwich-powered Android smartphone from the carrier.
HTC One X has received a lot of spotlight due to its quad-core Tegra 3 processor. But the AT&T version of One X does not pack the Nvidia's chipset as it is not compatible with 4G networks. The LTE phone packs Qualcomm's dual-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, backed up by 1GB of RAM. The phone has a 4.7-inch IPS LCD2 display with 720p display and 16GB of internal memory.
The HTC powerhouse packs 8-megapixel camera with LED flash support. It is capable of capturing 1080p video at 30fps. The camera shoots excellent quality images even in low light conditions. There is also a secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera in the device. The device supports 4G network but in absence of any 4G network, the device will switch to the much-slower 3G network.
HTC One X is also AT&T's first device to feature built-in Beats Audio integration. Beats Audio was acquired by HTC in August last year for a price of $300 million. Beats by Dr. Dre gives a world-class music listening experience. Beats Audio gives distortion-free audio even at high volume. Rich bass enhancement and high volume is all you need, when listening to music or watching movies and videos. But to get most out of it, you will need a Beats-compatible accessory like Beats Solo HD headphone, Wireless HD Stereo Bluetooth headphone, Beats In-ear headphone or AT&T's exclusive Beatbox.
All in all, HTC One X is a beautifully crafted smartphone offering excellent features. The pre-orders for One X are opening from April 22.
The Taiwanese firm also showed off two more devices along with One X at MWC 2012 - One V and One S. T-Mobile will launch HTC One S. On the other hand, One V is reserved for other carriers like Virgin Mobile, U.S. Cellular and MetroPCS.
