How To Make 'The Witcher 3' Feel, Play And Look Better Than The Game Of The Year Edition Through Mods

C. de Lacy

"The Witcher 3" is already an expansive and rich experience on its own, but thanks to a number of mods, the experience can be tenfolds better and here's how to make your game even more immersive with and crazy fun.

Note that these mods are only available for the Windows version of "The Witcher 3"

Random Encounters

It does what the title says and becomes an added element on top of the scripted enemy locations where they respawn after a couple of days. This also gives the game a more RPG~ish vibe into it by unexpected battles.

It could be tailored fit for any players preference by following the instructions provided on the link above.

Ultra Grass 420

"The Witcher 3" has awesome visuals and more often than not, players are threading through grasslands. This experience, while minor, can have players immersed with the Ultra Grass 420.

This adds extremely high-resolution grass that overshadows the game's vanilla grass. This makes long travels less tedious and more of an eye-candy for players who tend to tread off-roads.

Increased LOD

For those looking to challenge their machines and show crazy amounts of detail levels for objects, Increased LOD is a very good mod. This increases the draw distance of small and medium sized objects by 30 percent and up to a staggering 300 percent on the level of detail for a lot of objects in the game.

This is potentially better than a remaster or an HD retexture as the mod smartly cranks up the details from the "The Witcher 3" vanilla content.

Ultimate Lighting Mod and EDFX EnhanceD FX Graphics Utility

This mod further improves that game's lighting by proving an even more realistic feel to it.

It provides players a good amount of control over the game's lighting through hotkeys making it look as they see fit.

Along with EDFX, these two mods provide players with even more control to improve the game's look by allowing them to add filters, adjust lens flare effect, modify the field of view blur and even use reshaders that can give the game some photo-realistic look.

There are still tons of mods being created for "The Witcher 3" and with the upcoming patch, fans and players can expect more official content from CD Projekt and even more support from the modding community.
