Macbook Pro 2016 Update: Release Date Depends On Which CPU Is Used
C. de LacyConsumers and fans are expecting the latest Macbook Pro 2016 in the upcoming Apple event this September 7. The processor choice might decide whether consumers get to see the next Macbook soon enough.
Apple Insider reported that the Macbook Pro 2016 might be breaking their own set of rules in terms of what specs and hardware to use with their Macbook releases. Apple was never the company to use current-generation processors and even the 2015 model has some questionable choices.
Apple Insider listed down the possible processors that the Macbook Pro 2016 may use and depending on which the company chooses, the official release may be affected. Still, processor choices will also affect the laptop's capability and in effect, will vary its price as well.
Kaby Lake
The Kaby Lake processor is the seventh generation in the Intel-Core family.
This natively supports 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 3 that also uses USB 3.1 connector. Kaby Lake is capable of displaying 4K Displays with HDMI 2.0.
What the inclusion of this processor means better integrated graphics performance among all the other advantages that it can provide the Macbook Pro 2016.
If this processor is to be used with Macbook Pro 2016, the release date may be pushed back a bit later due to the sources theory.
Skylake
Skylake comes one generation earlier than Kaby Lake. Still, it supports 4K capability and with Thunderbolt 3 support as well. Energy consumption is optimized however, when compared with Kaby Lake and earlier Broadwell processors.
The Macbook Pro 2016 is likely to be released this September if Apple will still stick with Skylake processor. This is the same processor the company used with Macbook 2016 models.
There's no telling yet where Apple stands and which processor it will use, but consumers will get more answers in the upcoming event. It is often a better idea to wait a bit more rather than getting a new model with slightly outdated specs for the Macbook Pro 2016.
