Xperia Z6 News, Release Date: Is Sony Replacing it With Xperia XZ?
Kirsten KaneSony has announced its new flagship phone during the consumer electronics show IFA. However, the company's new device isn't named the Xperia Z6, and instead, a smartphone called Xperia XZ appeared.
The "Z line has reach its culmination" and the "X series represents new chapter," the company said during the MWC back in March.
The Xperia XZ features a 5.2-inch Full HD Display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 3GB of RAM, reported Tech Radar.
The smartphone also features a sleek design with Sony's own ALKALEIDO metal back with more rounded edges than before. It is IP68 water resistance, like Xperia Z5 which means that you have nothing to worry when your phone dropped in to water
The Xperia XZ measures 146 x 72 x 8.1mm, weighs 161g, and features a new camera layout on the rear. It also embraces USB Type-C technology, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a built-in fingerprint sensor on board.
Like the Xperia Z5 series and the Xperia X; the Xperia XZ boasts of a 23-megapixelback, 13-megapixel front-facing camera and features 4K video recording.
Furthermore, Sony is making improvements on the Xperia XZ camera, including 5-axis image stabilization, better white balance control and laser auto-focus which was launched on the X series earlier this year. This feature tracks and predicts movements in order to ensure moments aren't missed.
The Xperia XZ comes with a 2900mAh battery that helps prevent draining quickly. The phone will learn your charging routines over time so it won't be pumping in power when it doesn't need to when your charger is connected.
If you regularly charge your phone overnight and take it off at 8:00AM, it'll charge up to 90 percent and finishes off in the last 10 percent instants before you wake up.
Moreover, the Sony Xperia Xz is running Android Marshmallow with the Xperia UI overlay on top. All these upgrades will be available beginning October 3, but the price has yet to be announced.
