Samsung Tab S3 vs.Google Nexus 7 2016: Rumored Specs And Features Face-Off
Dheeraj RWith the release date of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and Google Nexus 7 2016 around the corner, we have compiled a report based on the rumored specs and features of both the devices. This report is intended to provide an overview of the two devices and thus help you to decide whether to upgrade to the newer versions or not.
Based on the leaked images, it is speculated that the Galaxy Tab S3 will sport a curved-edged display with slight modification in the display's aspect ratio with 16:10. In terms of display, the Samsung device is expected to be made available in two variants of 8-inch and 9.7-inch screen with AMOLED panel along with 4K display functionality.
On the other hand, the Nexus 7 2016 phone is rumored to be made available with a 7-inch screen and AMOLED Quad display panel. The two variants Pixel and Pixel XL are expected to sport 2560 x 1440 pixels and 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution respectively.
When it comes to the performance-related specs, the Galaxy Tab S3 is speculated to consist of an octa-core Exynos 8890 chipset similar to that of the Galaxy S7 phone. It will feature 4 GB RAM along with internal storage of 32 GB and 64 GB. However, rumors suggested that the other variant might be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. On the other hand, the Google smartphone is expected to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Furthermore, the Galaxy Tab S3 is rumored to feature an 8-megapixel rear and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Google phone will feature a 13-megapixel rear and unnamed advanced functions.
Additionally, both the devices are expected to include a USB Type-C port for faster data transfers and charging. In terms of battery specs, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is expected to excel with a 4,000 mAh battery for the 8-inch model and a 5,870 mAh battery for the 9.7-inch model, whereas the Nexus 7 2016 will sport 5100 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
As far as the software specs are concerned, the Galaxy Tab S3 is rumored to run on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system with a planned upgrade to the Android Nougat OS. Besides, the Nexus 7 will by default run on the Android 7.0 Nougat system.
Last but not the least, the Galaxy Tab S3 is expected to be priced at $420. However, there is no update on the price of the Google Nexus 7 2016.
