'Batman: Return To Arkham': No PC Version Planned For Remaster Bundle, PS4, Xbox One Version Gets October Release Date
Jazz RosinAfter an unexpected delay and numerous cancellation rumors, "Batman: Return To Arkham" finally gets the release date.
The development of the remastered bundle went through some rough patches, with WB Games announcing its indefinite delay in July so they, along with Virtuos Games, can put more polish to the game, which includes remastered versions of "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City."
"After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuos Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience," WB Games said at the time.
The release of "Batman: Return To Arkham" was also hampered by cancellation rumors, with some speculating that Chinese company Virtuos Games was not up to the task.
The past year has not been good for the Caped Crusader, with the movie "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" getting generally negative scores from critics. The "Arkham Knight" PC version release was a failure, and even "Batman: A Telltale Series" was buggy on the PC when it was first launched.
Overcoming all odds, WB Games and Rocksteady finally announced an Oct. 18 release date for the much-awaited bundle. WB Games also showcased a comparison video for both PS3 and PS4 versions, which you can check out below:
WB Games has also reiterated that the remastered bundle will not be coming to PC.
"'Batman: Return to Arkham' will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in order to provide players with Rocksteady's 'Batman: Arkham' games that were previously only released on the PS3 and Xbox 360," WB Games explained on Facebook.
"Because the PC versions of 'Batman: Arkham Asylum' and 'Batman: Arkham City' are already running at higher resolutions than those for previous generation consoles, we decided to focus development solely on PS4 and Xbox One." the publisher added.
"Batman: Return to Arkham" will cost $49.99 in North America, €49.99 in the U.K. and £39.99 in Europe, according to Polygon.
