MacBook Pro 2016 News: Apple Laptop Expected This October With Skylake Chipset, More Colors, No Headphone Jack
AnishAsokanAfter the rollout of the iPhone7, Apple fans are excited for the upcoming launch of the highly anticipated MacBook Pro 2016. According to latest reports, the American tech giant could unveil the latest MacBook Pro this October.
Currently, the MacBook Pro is available in 13 in and 15 in models, but the big question is whether we are going to see a new laptop with innovative designs and features or will it be just a minor update.
Physical Design
Apple loves the sleek and lighter form factor in all its products. It is possible to have a thinner look in the newer MacBook Pro. Speculations are rife that an innovative hinge design could be introduced in the new MacBook machines. Also, there can be more color options from Apple.
Goodbye, Headphone jack
In all probabilities, Apple could be relinquishing the 3.5 mm headphone jack as we have seen in the iPhone 7. It would be logical to assume that Apple will be saying goodbye to the port from rest of its products as well.
OLED Touch bar
According to Apple Insider, as part of the redesign, the physical function keys are expected to be replaced by the OLED display touch bar which would bring in modifiable software keys capable of adapting to the requirements and functions of different apps.
Screen
One of the most popular rumors is that the new MacBook will be featuring touchscreens, perhaps detachable as well. From a screen resolution, perhaps an increase in pixel per inch is possible, but a 4K/5K screen does not seem to be on the cards for now.
It is much possible that with the touchscreen, we could see an improved Apple Pencil along with new set of Pros. With Apple suggesting that it is interested in extending Apple pencil support beyond the iPad's display, the idea could potentially make it to the MacBook 2016 this autumn.
Processor
In all likelihood, the biggest change should be in the MacBook Pro's processor, reported TechRadar. The sixth generation Skylake chips are expected to make their way, which are expected to help in massive speed improvements. With a better a battery life, the performance could be more than just impressive.
Touch ID fingerprint sensor
With the introduction of Apple Pay for Mac, Touch ID fingerprint sensor is now a high possibility.
With the reports on revamped designs and new features coming in, the MacBook Pro 2016 definitely seems worth the wait.
