iPhone 8 Rumors: Apple Phone To Sport All-Glass Chassis With Ceramic Material? Wireless Charging Functionality Also Expected
Dheeraj RAmidst the ongoing iPhone 7 sales, few reports hinted that the customers are already looking forward to the Apple iPhone 8, which is slated to be released in 2017. According to the latest rumors, the iPhone 8 is touted to sport revolutionary specs and features like the all-glass chassis, wireless charging option, edge-to-edge display, and much more.
Mashable reported that the upcoming iPhone 8 will feature a totally revamped design with an all-glass chassis instead of the aluminum body. According to the glass enclosure patent filed by the Cupertino-based giant few years back, it is touted that the new iPhone will consist of the front and back panels made of transparent glass material. This new feature is expected to make the new smartphone a complete water-resistant device.
Furthermore, reports claimed that the upcoming Apple phone will also consist of ceramic material for the remaining part of the chassis, which is touted to be four times harder than steel. The new material has been included in the recently launched Apple Series 2 Watch and is stated to make the device strong and less prone to scratches.
As far as the display specs are concerned, the iPhone 8 is rumored to sport an edge-to-edge display panel, which is expected to provide the users with broader screen space to use. To add on to that, Mac Rumors reported that the new edge display will provide the users with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor built directly into the device screen's display.
Besides, there are rumors that the new iPhone 8 will consist of a sleeker body with slightly curved edges and OLED display instead of the regular IPS LCD panel. This is expected to provide the users with the device with high power efficiency and a higher contrast ratio.
In terms of the performance-related specs, the upcoming Apple phone is rumored to sport the 10-nanometer A11 chipset instead of the iPhone7's A10 Fusion processor.
Additionally, the iPhone 8 might also introduce some new specs like long-range wireless charging and Iris scanners. The Wireless charging option is expected to allow iPhone users to simultaneously charge their device even with the headphones inserted into the Lightning port, reported Bloomberg. The new Iris sensors will provide the users with added security measures for their device.
However, there is still no official word from Apple on the rumored iPhone 8 specs and features. Keep posted here for more updates.
