After months of speculations, we are finally getting a mirror image of what Samsung's next flagship model is going to boast of. Galaxy S3 is releasing May 3 and in the final days of excitement, rumors are flying thick. Increasing the excitement level, Samsung is leaking a little bit of information about its upcoming Galaxy device now and then.
Reportedly, Samsung officials have revealed that the new flagship model will be called Galaxy S3. But still the only confirmed specification related to Galaxy S3 is its quad-core Exynos processor. Samsung has revealed its Exynos 4 Quad processor - a speed demon - that supports clock speeds higher than 1.4 GHz.
In Galaxy S3, the processor is expected to be clocked at 1.5 GHz. Each core of processor could be turned off in order to increase battery performance. So the device can also convert into a dual-core or even a single-core powered smartphone.
There will be 1GB of RAM in the device and 16/32GB of internal storage. Galaxy S3 may support microSD card up to 64GB (at least 32GB is guaranteed).
Turning to the camera department, Galaxy S3 possibly will supposedly sport 12-megapixel camera. Galaxy S sported a 5-megapixel snapper and Galaxy S2 has 8-megapixel camera. Now it is Galaxy S3's turn to get 12-megapixel camera.
Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to have 4.6-inch display with 720p resolution. However, some Android watchers claim it could be 4.7- or even 4.8-inch screen. It is being rumored that the screen will be 3D, but Samsung has discarded the rumors about 3D display inclusion in its upcoming smartphone. Physical home button is also likely.
Giving superior connectivity features, Galaxy S3 will support 4G LTE networks. The phone is expected to be powered by a standard 2050 mAh Li-Ion battery.
Galaxy S3 is expected to hit Verizon network in the U.S., but the release date is unconfirmed. In the UK, Vodafone and O2 have confirmed to bring Galaxy S3 into the country.
