Microsoft Surface Pro 5 To Be Released In 2017 With Kaby Lake Chipset And 4K Display
Dheeraj RAmidst reports that the Intel's next-gen chipset will be launched by the end of the year, rumors have surfaced stating that the release date of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 might be postponed to 2017. This is because the upcoming Microsoft device is expected to be launched with the new Intel Kaby Lake pro.
"The 7th Generation Core, formerly codenamed Kaby Lake, will be coming later this year," said Navin Shenoy, the VP and GM for the Client Computing Group at Intel. "We have over 400 designs coming to market on the Seventh Gen Core, and you can expect lots of innovations from our OEM partners bringing this product to market." This statement has hinted that the launch of the Kaby Lake chipset will be followed by the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date.
Apart from the new Intel processor, the upcoming Microsoft device is expected to sport 4K high-definition display panel along with a resolution of 3,840-pixels. Rumors also suggested that the Surface Pro 5 will be packed with a fingerprint sensor for added security. It will also sport a USB Type-C port for faster data transfers and charging.
Furthermore, the Microsoft Surface 5 is rumored to be launched with a Surface Pen, also touted as the rechargeable stylus, which will provide the users with a charging circuit for charging the battery via one or more terminals on the device.
As far as the software specs are concerned, the Microsoft device will run on the Windows 10 Redstone 2 operating system. Also, the Surface Pro 5 might also feature a RAM capacity of more than 16 GB along with a 16-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front camera.
Lastly, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to have a price tag of $899 whereas the high-end variant will be made available for around $1800. However, nothing has been officially confirmed by the Redmond-based technology giant about the specs and release date of the device.
