As "Power Rangers" remains to be one of the most famous superhero TV series since its debut in the early 1990's, its reboot's current production draws more attention.

In less than a week, fans will finally be treated to the much-awaited teaser for Lionsgate's upcoming "Power Rangers" movie, to be directed by Dean Israelite. It will be starred by Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, Rj Cycle, Ludi Lin, and Becky Gomez as the five teenagers. Elizabeth Banks will portray Rita Repulsa, Bryan Cranston as Zordon, and Bill Hader as Alpha 5.

While it has been known that the new movie in 2017 will reinterpret the original Mighty Morphin' team, fans have been curious about the filmmaker's plans to adapt the long-running TV storyline and they wanted to know if the show's original actors have a cameo appearance.

Walter Jones, who played Zack, the original Black Ranger, said there were not any appearances by anyone from the original 1993 cast.

"Unfortunately, we were not invited to be part of the film, which is confusing to me, but I'm excited for the film nevertheless," said Jones.

Karan Ashley, who played "Aisha" the Yellow Ranger in Season 2 and the 1995 "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" movie, told Inversea few months back that no original Power Ranger actor had been asked to reprise or cameo any role.

"They're not a sentimental bunch, and it's fine," she said, "We all wish we could be part of that movie. Fans everywhere ask, 'Are you in this new movie?' We're not, no one is in the movie. It's a true reboot. It's all new, all fresh."

Meanwhile, regarding the new "Power Rangers" movie reboot, images of the Rangers' power suits have been released recently and some fans commented that the outfits are too chest for a film aiming for a realistic tone.

"It's tricky finding a new language for a superhero costume. Ours is an alien costume that grows on them, that's not man-made. You can't win everyone over, but we are trying to appeal to a more mature audience and gain new fans," Production designer Andrew Menzies (Fury) answered during his interview.

Cinemablend also revealed that the new movie will be a straightforward reboot. The "Power Rangers" movie will re-tell the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" story in the modern day, giving fans new versions of those same protagonists, allies, villains and more.

The "Power Rangers" movie premiere has been set on March 24, 2017, according to Lionsgate and Saban Entertainment.
