The Pirate Bay To Go Down With The Help Of Google, Mozilla Firefox? Alternative Torrent Site TPB Clean Getting More Popular
C. de LacyThe longest running torrent site has seen it all, but the fight against cyber piracy has been getting hotter that all sorts of counter action measures are being taken. How long will The Pirate Bay last?
Just recently, The Pirate Bay started getting blocked again by two popular browsers Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. It was tagged before by the following browsers as a type of "phishing site," making the access to the site appear to be riskier.
Again, as Yahoo reported, the site is being blocked, causing confusion among its users.
"Deceptive site ahead: Attackers on Thepiratebay.org may trick you into doing something dangerous like installing software or revealing your personal information," the browser states. "Google Safe Browsing recently detected phishing on thepiratebay.org. Phishing sites pretend to be other websites to trick you,"
The Pirate Bay has been blocked by multiple browsers a couple of times before that started way back May of this year. The site is currently down at the time of the writing, though there's no doubt that the site will be back online again.
Still, getting tagged by popular browsers multiple times isn't spelling anything good for The Pirate Bay. Users may still access the site regardless of the warning, but not everyone would rather take the risk, especially casual users who happen to be more cautious than computer savvy ones.
The site may not go down, but reduced visitors due to blockages could mean the same thing.
Some sites may still work, however, especially the better alternative called "TPBClean," which is almost a mirror of The Pirate Bay itself. Other sites may be presented as an alternative, but the simplicity of The Pirate Bay plus the loads of torrents could not easily be matched.
