Two 4G LTE phones have been confirmed for the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA) wireless trade show, which runs from May 7-10, 2012 in New Orleans. Two phones have been revealed: the Samsung Focus 2 for AT&T, a budget 4G LTE Windows Phone device that has hit AT&T stores, while the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE is an Android 4.0 device heading for Verizon.
The Samsung Focus 2 is a Windows 7.5 Mango device and is the follow up to 2010's Samsung Focus. It has a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, with a 480x800 resolution. Internally the phone has a single-core 1.4GHz processor, while it includes a 5-megapixel camera that records 720p video. It also uses a VGA front-facing camera. There's no news of integrated storage or possible microSD card expansion.
Focus 2 comes in "pure white" and is 10.98mm thick, weighing 4.3 ounces. Priced at $49.99 on a two-year contract, the Focus 2 will be available from May 20. The Focus 2 is the latest Windows Phone 7 device for AT&T. The carrier launched the Lumia 900 on April 8, and made a big push with the platform through the company's biggest ever marketing push for any launch device. The 900 is expected to sell two million units during the second quarter.
On the other hand, the much-rumored HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE for Verizon shares features with the HTC One X and One S. It features a 4-inch screen, with a Super LCD panel with a 540x980 resolution. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with the HTC Sense 4.0 skin. 1GB of RAM is inside with a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
Droid Incredible 4G LTE packs an 8-megapixel camera on the back with autofocus, LED flash and back-side illumination. The device also uses a front-facing camera, includes NFC for Android Beam and the Beats Audio. The phone also includes a 1700mAh battery, with support for microSD expansion along with 8GB of integrated storage.
The HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE will be available in the "coming weeks," while Verizon didn't reveal pricing.
