The two new electric cars, namely Nissan Leaf, the first of its kind from Nissan, and the Tesla Model 3, are eco-friendly options that are quickly sweeping car sales.

Let's have a quick comparison the two.

As per the market sentiment, people are willing to buy an electric car, but many are still simultaneously hesitant about their reliability on road. People are falling short on expectations also about the electric cars. In short, is it worth spending?

Tesla is primarily in electric car manufacturing business. On the other hand, Nissan is launching its first electric vehicle, but it has been in car business since 1934.

The direct comparison reveals that the Nissan Leaf can only take you up to 124 miles on a single charge while the Model 3 will run 215 miles on single charge.

Tesla has offered the Model 3 with flexible interior space and slightly smaller than its other cars. It has a secondary storage space under the bonnet in addition to the bootspace. While the rear seats can be folded down to open up 66 inches of room.

The Leaf, however, is the only electric vehicle in the market today that offers more back seats. There is 330 liters of luggage room, which can be increased up to 680-liters by just pushing forward the rear backrest. In addition, the rear seats can accommodate up to 3 adults.

Both cars feature aerodynamic designs that decrease drag, for lesser power consumption. The Nissan Leaf looks like a hatchback, while the Model 3 looks similar to Tesla's older sedans. Both are fitted with alloy wheels.

The Tesla Model 3 will come with the necessary hardware needed for self-driving while there is no news regarding any auto-pilot technology for Nissan Leaf.

The Tesla Model 3 is expected to be shipped in late 2017, but most of it's nearly 400,000 reservation holders are reported to receive it in 2018. The new Nissan LEAF's reveal date is unknown, but is expected sometimes in 2018.

The Tesla Model 3 starts at $35,000 with basic options and goes up in price if you would like to load more. Currently, the Nissan LEAF price ranges from $29,000 to $ 36,000.
