Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 vs Oppo F1s Review: Which Is The Better iPhone 7 Alternative?
PrakashThe Xiaomi Redmi Note3, iPhone 7 Plus and Oppo F1s stand at three end points in the smartphone market in terms of price and specifications. Still, we will compare the core specifications to draw some conclusion for the one who can't afford an iPhone 7, but needs a better experience.
Starting with the design and display, the trio features a huge 5.5" screen, varying in resolution. The Oppo F1s comes with lower resolution of 720 x 1280, while the Note 3 and iPhone 7 Plus have similar (1080 X 1920) screen resolutions.
We can easily distinguish the quality as the iPhone 7 Plus comes with LED backlit technology in its display protected with Oleophobic coating. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 3 and Oppo F1s have IPS LCD displays. However, only Oppo F1s has a Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
In terms of performance, the iPhone 7 Plus leads with quad core 2.23 GHz Apple A10 Fusion. While the Xiaomi Note 3 features a hexa core Snapdragon 650 processor clocking at 1.8GHz, the Oppo F1s comes only with octa core MediaTek processor clocking at 1.5 gHz.
We don't need to shed extra money for more storage in the Redmi Note 3 and Oppo F1s, which come with microSD slot up to 256 GB. Apple has various options of in built storage like 32 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB coupled with 3GB RAM in case of iPhone 7 Plus.
The Redmi phone comes in two versions of 16GB-2GB RAM and 32 GB-3GB RAM models. The Oppo F1s has only one variant with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage.
In terms of battery, the Note 3 has a bigger battery with 4050 mAH than the iPhone 7 Plus's 2900 mAH battery and Oppo F1s's 3075 mAH battery. However, Apple has used Li-Po batteries for slim design and lightweight of iPhone 7 Plus.
The photography round has a few ups and downs. Apple's iPhone 7 Plus features a Dual 12 MP (2160p) rear camera with quad-LED (dual tone) flash and a 7MP front snapper.
Contrastingly, the Redmi Note 3 has a 16 MP (1080p) rear camera with dual-LED (dual tone) flash and a 5MP primary snapper.
The only reason to buy the Oppo F1s over others in this comparison can be the love for selfies due to the stunning 16 MP front facing selfie camera in F1s. However, the back comes with only 13 MP (1080p) camera with LED flash.
While the software on the Redmi Note 3 runs on Android 5.1.1 based MIUI 8, Oppo F1s uses a tweaked version of Android 5.1 called Color OS 3.0. As expected, Apple iPhone 7 Plus comes with its own iOS 10.0.1.
The gaming experience is awesome in the iPhone 7 Plus with six-core graphics, while the Note 3 has Adreno 510 GPU and the F1s has Mali T860MP2 GPU.
Summing up, the iPhone 7 Plus fares way ahead in all features, but at the same time it is also price heavy at Rs.72000. If people want a better battery life with a similar 5.5" screen, then the Xiaomi Note 3 is a much is a great option at an affordable cost of Rs.11999. On the other hand, the Oppo F1s (Priced at Rs.17990) is considered a contender only for its impressive selfie camera.
