'Hearthstone' World Championship At BlizzCon 2016: Quarter Finals Schedule, Live Stream
J RoseThe highly anticipated "Hearthstone" World Championship is happening at BlizzCon 2016, and the Quarter-final matches will start in a few hours. Here is everything you should know about it, including schedules, live streams and more.
Player Matchups And Stats
JasonZhou vs. Hamster
The "Hearthstone" quarterfinals kicks off with top Chinese players Jason Zhou and Zhuo "Hamster" Wang. The two players have close win-lose scores, with Zhou's winning ratio at 57 percent and Wang at 59 percent.
Zhou has won 20,000 matches using his fearsome Control Warrior deck, but his other decks are proven to be a worthy match against other competitors. Hamster, on the other hand, has brought his Priest and Paladin decks and has made his way through to the quarterfinals using these two underrepresented classes.
Amnesiac vs. Pavel
The American "Hearthstone" contender William "Amnesiac" Barton has shown a lot of potential, considering he is only fifteen years old. He is currently one of the youngest players to compete in major "Hearthstone" tournaments.
The Team Archon player will be facing another young "Hearthstone" competitor, eighteen-year old Pavel Beltukov. The Russian prodigy has won the second season of the "Hearthstone" Champions League in February, beating Swedish player Sebastian "Ostkaka" Engwall 3 -2.
che0nsu Vs. Cydonia
The third match up is between South Korea's Kim "che0nsu" Cheonsu and Canada's Julien "Cydonia" Perrault.
Che0nsu is the only "Hearthstone" player from the Asia-Pacific region to make it to the quarterfinals, and has even beaten seasoned "Hearthstone" contender, Singaporean Aaron Koh.
Cydonia, on the other hand, has recently won the 2016 HCT Americas Spring Championship, defeating US player Rosty.
Both Che0nsu and Cydonia each have a deck which they have not played throughout the competition yet, so it's interesting to know if they will finally use these decks in the quarterfinals.
HotMEOWTH Vs. DrHippi
The final matchup is between US player Edwin "HotMEOWTH" Cook and Ukrainian TeamVirtus.pro player Artem "DrHippi" Kravets.
HotMeowth won the HCT Americas Summer Championship earlier this year, beating Jeffery "Tarei" Liu during the finals and earning him a spot in the World Championships.
DrHippi, on the other hand, won the EU Summer Championships last September, joining his teammates Naiman and ThijsNL and is now the lone representative of Virtus.pro in the quarterfinals.
