Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Release Date Set For January 2017? Graphics Card Spotted With 10 GB RAM; Specs Rumors Here
PrakashThe recent announcement by Nvidia about the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti is gathering rumors about its release date and specifications.
The graphics beast is reportedly launching at next year's CES in January featuring the company's high-end GP102 GPU.
We have a recent report that teases the GTX 1080 Ti with 10GB of RAM. Moreover, we can validate this report with our reasoning. A recent leak from China suggests that GTX 1080 Ti will have features similar to Titan X.
Now, when you consider that the GTX 1080 has 8GB of RAM, and the Titan X features 12GB of RAM, the GTX 1080 Ti will sit in the middle with 10GB of RAM.
The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is expected to use the GP102 GPU, the same used on the Titan X, but a 384-bit memory interface is interesting, and it's needed for multi-monitor and 4K gaming. Although the GTX 1080 Ti will come with fewer functional CUDA cores, it will actually perform just as well.
Packing 3328 CUDA cores, a 1.6Ghz boost clock, 12GB of GDDR5X memory & an impressive 10.8 TFLOPs of graphics horsepower. The new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is set to deliver Titan X Pascal performance at a budget friendly price. Finally, the card is expected to have a thermal design power of 250 watts, just like its bigger brother the Titan X.
Well, the GTX 1080 Ti should arrive for $999-$1150 or so, and will see all AIB partners releasing custom boards - something we don't see with Titan X graphics cards.
Once Nvidia drops the GTX 1080 Ti, it will surely be a game-changer in the graphics card market. As for the price, it was listed in Indian Rupees and when converted to USD, we should expect it at around $1,000.
