Samsung Galaxy E7 vs Moto X Play Review: Did Smasung Fails Miserably In The Mid-Range Battle?

Ribhu .

The Moto X Play is a smartphone in the mid-range that accompanies a large 3,630mAh battery, which is expected to offer a battery life of up to 48 hours with a mix usage pattern. To compete with it is the Samsung Galaxy E7. In this review, let us see how well they fair against each other.

The Moto X Play is evaluated at Rs 18,499 for 16GB variation and Rs 19,999 for 32GB variation. The Galaxy E7 costs as Rs 16,099. Regarding valuing, the Galaxy E7 is good-to-go.

The Moto X Play comes with a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, whereas the Galaxy E7 has a 5.5-inch display running at a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels and secured with Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

In the engine, the Moto X Play is controlled by Qualcomm's 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor matched with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Galaxy E7 gets its processing power from Qualcomm's 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor matched with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Here, the Moto X Play leaves the Galaxy E7 far behind.

Regarding internal storage, Moto X Play accompanies 16GB and 32GB variations. The Galaxy E7 has just 16GB of installed storage. However, in both the phones, a microSD card can expand the storage.
On the camera front, the Moto X Play accompanies a 21-megapixel camera with double LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. The Galaxy E7 offers a 13-megapixel camera with double LED flash and 5-megapixel front camera for video calls and selfies.

The battery on the Moto X Play is 3,630mAh, and E7 offers a 2950mAh battery. With Motorola guaranteeing the Moto X Play can offer 48 hours on a mix usage pattern, it certainly is a win here.

Talking about the connectivity, both the phones have 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and A-GPS.

The Moto X Play keeps running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS with guaranteed updates, while the Galaxy E7 is still stuck on KitKat 4.4.4 OS with little words on an official update.

As far as additional components are concerned, the Moto X Play has a Fast Charging ability and water repellent nano-covering (IP52 certification), something that is lost in Galaxy E7.

The Moto X Play steals the show with a better processor, camera, and battery, not to mention its waterproof feature. Although it's priced a bit more than the Galaxy E7, it is certainly a decent investment as a mid-range smartphone option.
