Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 vs Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime: The Mediocre Smartphones
Ribhu .Samsung is taking a big dip in the mid-range smartphone segment has come out with quite a few handsets for users targeting the mid-range price segment. Today, we will be comparing Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 and Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime.
Talking about the display, the Galaxy J3 2016, running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, features a 5.0 inches (~68.2% screen-to-body ratio) Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (~294 ppi pixel density). On the other hand, the Galaxy J2 Prime, running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with a 5.0 inches (~66.0% screen-to-body ratio) Capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels (~220 ppi pixel density).
Under the hood, the Galaxy J3 has a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A7 with Mali-400 GPU, powered by a 1.5 GB RAM. The phone comes with 16/32 GB storage options. The Galaxy J2 Prime has a Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 Mediatek MT6737T CPU with Mali-T720MP2 GPU, powered by 1.5 GB of RAM.The phone comes with 8 GB internal storage and 1.5 GB of RAM.
Both the phones can be expanded up to 256 GB through a microSD card. The processor and RAM are just good enough for basic functionalities but do not expect high-end gaming and extreme performance from these two smartphones.
For clicking pictures, the Galaxy J3 2016 has a 8 MP camera (f/2.2, autofocus, LED flash) and features Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, and HDR. The front camera is a 5 MP shooter with f/2.2, and records 720p videos at 30fps. The Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime shares its camera properties with the J3.
The battery of the J3 2016 is a Removable Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery which provides a standby time of up to 349 hours. The J2 Prime has the same battery specifications as the J3.
The Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 comes in white, black, and Gold whereas the Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime comes in black and gold.
Both the phones have mediocre specifications and carry the tradition of Samsung not providing great features in its mid-range segment.
