The recent iOS updates have faced some serious stick from the users who have complained about the poor battery life which is the most important source on iPhone. Even the latest firmware iOS 5.1.1 update is not spared from this issue. But this problem, especially for iPad 3 users, can be solved by following a few simple steps.
Before you continue, it is important to note that this is a common issue with users who updated iOS through on-device OTA updates (OTA updates is the update directly from the idevice that allows you to download only the files that are different. The file size will be smaller than general IPSW downloads, making the installation process faster)
Also remember that it is useful to perform a quick manual back-up through iCloud or iTunes before going forward with this.
Here are the steps to fix the battery life issue.
Step 1: Open “Settings” and tap on “General.” Then tap on “Reset,” and then on “Reset All Settings”
Step 2: Enter the Passcode (if you have one set), and then tap “Reset” to confirm the settings adjustment
Step 3: Now reboot the device and set it up as new, and re-enter personalization data as it is necessary
Step 4: Then charge the battery until 100%
