The previous chapter's cliffhanger stalled for a bit as "One Piece" Chapter 846 focuses on Luffy and the Big Mom Pirates' fights.

After Sanji and Lady Pudding's decision to marry each other at the end of Chapter 845, the scene changes into Luffy and Nami's fight. At the outskirts of Sweet City, Galette holds Nami in place with an adhesive fluid. With Galette surprised, Nami said that she can summon a big lightning bolt because of Big Mom's thunderclouds.

In the meantime, Amande, whose face is revealed for the first time, pulls her weapons on her enemy King Baum. The tree homie tries to beg for his life, but Amande slowly sliced him into halves. Amande wants to have King Baum's death as painful as possible.

Going back to Luffy fighting more chess soldiers, Big Mom Pirate member Opera attacks him with a big amount of cream, adding "sweetness" to it so Luffy's hands would burn.

Luffy then charges at Opera, but suddenly finds himself at a new, weird-looking location. Another of Big Mom's Pirates, Mont-d'Or, revealed that the place is called the "World of Books." A small fight between Nami and Amande occurs, but all of a sudden a book appears on Luffy's head, putting him back to the real world as he receives two back-to-back punches by members of the Big Mom Pirates.

The army then discovers Lola's Vivre Card within Nami and confiscates it as they take the defeated Luffy and Nami to Sweet City.

Meanwhile, back in Whole Cake Chateau, Sanji begs Big Mom for Luffy and Nami's safety. Big Mom accepts his marriage decision, much to his surprise. She said that if he marries Pudding and does not try to run away, she will make sure that Luffy and his friends will leave the island safely.

As Sanji promising to do whatever Big Mom wishes, she assured him that she will keep her words.

Inside the Room of Treasure, Charlotte Smoothie, a Sweet Commander, guards the three poneglyphs. Pedro and Brook, hiding inside, decides to provide distraction in order to get the Road Poneglyph, which is a once in a lifetime chance.

As Chapter 846 ends, there are speculations that Big Mom will not keep her words and instead put Luffy and Nami to jail.

A discussion over Reddit also speculated that only Sanji's current crewmates will be saved and there might be a very small chance for Carrot and Pedro to be included.

By any chance, Luffy and Nami may be able to reunite with Jimbei, who was formerly imprisoned by Big Mom inside the castle prison.
