"Crash Bandicoot" Remaster Announcement at Playstation Experience?
The remasters of the first three "Crash" games, "Crash Bandicoot," "Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back," and Crash Bandicoot: Warped" are highly anticipated by fans of the series, but apart from the huge surprise announcement at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, Sony has become quiet about it.
Fans are now expecting more details about the much-awaited remasters at the Playstation Experience, happening next weekend in Anaheim.
Here's what we know so far about the "Crash Bandicoot" remasters.
"Crash Bandicoot" Remaster To Be Out In February 2017?
The lovable bandicoot may make his way back to the PS4 soon as the much awaited "Crash Bandicoot" remastered version is rumored to be out by February next year.
Finnish retailer VPD.fi has listed the "Crash Bandicoot Remastered" bundle on their site for a Feb. 28, 2017 release, according to Rectify Gaming. The site also noted that the date is also the same launch date of another highly anticipated PS4 exclusive adventure game, "Horizon Zero Dawn."
We should clarify, however, that the date indicated on the listing may simply be a site placeholder, a common practice among online retailers.
New "Crash Bandicoot" Title On The Way?
The "Crash Bandicoot" remaster marks the comeback of the franchise and signals a new "Crash Bandicoot" title in the future.
Sony's PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan told Game Reactor in an interview that the possibility of a new "Crash Bandicoot" title is high, while giving the fans a taste of what Sony has in store.
"You know, we've got to keep you guys hoping for stuff that's coming in the future," Ryan said, "Tease you a little bit as well."
It could be possible that Sony is currently in negotiations with Activision to do a new "Crash Bandicoot" title, as the game publisher still holds the rights to the IP, Gamepur reported.
Are we getting new "Crash Bandicoot" remaster news at the Playstation Experience? We will find out next week.
