Fans who are looking forward to the movie "Pacific Rim 2" are reportedly rejoicing as speculations spread that Charlie Hunnam will be seen in the upcoming second installment of the film. Being one the lead characters from the first franchise, expectations are high that he will even at least show in the movie as a cameo.

As recalled from previous reports, Hunnam already shared that he can't join the upcoming "Pacific Rim" installment because of his tight schedule. In the first installment of the film, Gipsy Danger was destroyed. Report say that Raleigh Beckett (Charlie Hunnam's Role) will appear in the scene where the pieces of the Gipsy was gathered and reinvented as a new Jaeger.

John Boyega will play as the son of Idris Elba's Stacker Pentecost from "Pacific Rim 1." Considering that reports said that Boyega will be a Jaeger pilot, fans are reportedly expecting that someone will train him. And because Charlie Hunnam did a promising role of as a Jaeger pilot from the first sequel, rumors are that he will train John Boyega in "Pacific Rim: Maelstrom."

On the other hand, another character will be portrayed by a Chinese actor, Zhang Jin, in the second installment.  Although Jin's role is not yet disclosed, certain reports are saying that he will definitely be included in the action-packed scenes in the human-versus-monsters movie, We Got This Covered reported.

Aside from Zhang Jin, there will be new supporting cast in "Pacific Rim: Maelstrom". Scott Eastwood, Tian Jing, and Levi Meaden will be added in the film. A newcomer, Cailee Spaney will play as the female lead in the story, Movie Web reported.

Ron Perlman (Hannibal Chau), Charlie Day (Dr. Newton Geiszler), Rinko Kikuchi (Mako Mori) and Burn Gorman (Gottleib) are reportedly reprising their roles.

With or without Charlie Hunnam, "Pacific Rim 2: Maelstrom" is expected to be on the big screen on February 23, 2018.
