Nokia’s Flagship Android Phone To Be Showcased At MWC 2017? Specs Leaked; Carl Zeiss Lens, Quad-HD 2K Display
Gio C.Fans of the original Nokia series are excited to see the latest generation of Nokia Android devices that may be revealed early next year.
HMD Global, the company reported to be behind the Nokia Android devices, has confirmed that it would be attending the Mobile World Congress in late February. With this, fans are extremely enthusiastic about the possible announcement of the upcoming Nokia phones in the event.
The next Nokia flagship phone does not have its official name yet, but leaks suggest that the phone may feature a 5.2 or 5.5-inch, Quad-HD display. The source also suggest that the device may also use the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 instead of Snapdragon 821, as the latter is starting to age.
The device is also said to run on Android Nougat (7.0), and may feature water and dust proofing. It may also include a Carl Zeiss lens, and a metal uni-body design.
The upcoming smartphone is part of HMD Global's planned comeback for the Nokia brand with its 10-year marketing, development and sales license, with Foxconn in charge of manufacturing. Aside from the Nokia flagship phone, as many as two more devices are planned to be launched in the near future.
One of which is codenamed Nokia D1C that packs in a Snapdragon 430, 3 GB of RAM and Android Nougat. There are no further details on the said phone, but it will be HMD's mid-range Nokia phone offering.
Another device, reportedly named Nokia Pixel, was spotted on Geekbench and seems to be a new entry-level phone. It sports a Snapdragon 200 dual-core CPU, 1 GB of RAM, Android Nougat (7.0.1), and Quick Charge 3.0 support.
The product launches of the two other phones, however, is expected to occur before the end of this year, as per Nokia Networks' Mike Wang reportedly told Chinese press.
