After just two episodes of the newest tvN drama, Gong Yoo is in high demand. Moreover, the actor revealed the reasons why he ended taking the goblin role and not the "Descendants of the Sun" lead.

According to an advertising industry insider, advertisers are chasing after Gong Yoo after tvN's new drama, 'Goblin' aired last week. The insider reports that just over the weekend since the airing, about 50 advertisers have expressed their interest in the actor. After the second episode aired, even more advertisers called, which means approximately 60 - 65 brands have contacted Gong Yoo, as AllKpop cited.

Currently, Gong Yoo is working as a brand model for 9 different companies, including coffee, various clothing brands, cosmetics, cars, and much more.

Meanwhile, in a report by Yahoo, before shooting to success with his famously acclaimed movie "Train to Busan", Gong Yoo could have been enjoyed Song Joong Ki's fame as he was reportedly the top choice of the "Descendants of the Sun" writer Kim Eun Sook to play the role of Captain Yoo Shi Jin.

This gleaming nugget was revealed in a press conference for Kim's latest production, "Goblin", which Gong Yoo finally decided to join after five years of rejecting roles in Kim's dramas.

"Writer Kim has been really kind, offering me roles over and over again. The reason I rejected previous offers was not because I feel like I was special, but because I was afraid about shooting a drama," the 37-year-old actor answered why he decline the writer's offers.

"Unless it is a pre-made drama, the physical conditions are quite different. I am not putting the blame on the environment, but as an actor, I want to show my performance when I am in my best condition," the actor added. "But when we produce a TV series, we usually do not have enough time, so we always work under the pressure of time limitation. So, I did not want to miss out on things that I could share with the audience because of some of these physical limitations."

Currently, Gong Yoo plays Dokkaebi, a goblin who must learn to work together with the Reaper (Lee Dong Wook) to find a human bride in the "Goblin." It has reportedly broke a record for the highest TV rating for any tvN drama in two episodes by reaching 8.3 percent of viewership.
