'Pokemon Sun And Moon' Guide: Here's How To Get Your Hands On A Mimikyu [VIDEO]

Like every game in the Pokemon series, Pokemon Sun and Moon boasts an array of cute, strange, and a few extremely rare Pokemon. But while Pikachu remains one of the most popular varieties of Pokemon, it's Mimikyu that many players want to get their hands on.

Ghost and Fairy type, Mimikyu is definitely not your typical Pokemon. This adorable creature dons a mascot that makes it look like Pikachu. Contrary to what this Pokemon comes across as at first glance, Mimikyu nurses grudges and spends its life surrounded by dark energy. Mimikyu hates Pikachu, although it wants to be like Pikachu. Here's how to catch it:

The Abandoned Supermarket In Pokemon Sun And Moon

Pokemon Sun and Moon features several stores and supermarkets, but the Thrifty Megamart is like no other in the game. Located in Ula'Ula Island on Route 14, its ambiance is enough to send chills down your spine as you enter it; this place serves as a secret hideout for quite a few ghost type Pokemon. Inside the Thrifty Megamart, players are likely to bump into Klefki, Golbat, Haunter, and Mimikyu, GameNGuide reported.

Players should bear in mind that tracking down Mimikyu takes time due to its 5 percent encounter rate and an extremely low catch rate of 45 percent. Pokemon Sun and Moon players must be careful not to accidentally kill it. As soon as the player finds Mimikyu, there's no need to pull out Ultra Balls right away, but it will take numerous tries with the standard Poke Ball or the lesser Great Ball, according to IGN.

Normal attacks including False Swipe are not enough to phase this Ghost type Pokemon. The player must use a Pokemon that matches in level with Mimikyu to avoid getting too much damage in a single attack. Alternatively, weaker attacks can be used throughout. The plan is to leave Mimikyu with very little HP, taking its health bar in the alarming red zone before actually trying to capture it.
