Samsung Galaxy S3 has turned out to be the first android device to cross Apple iPhone in popularity. The device is already available in Europe and Asian markets. It is also coming to U.S. this month with preorder opening this week.
Preorder for Samsung Galaxy S3 begins June 6 from AT&T and Verizon Wireless, while neither of the carrier has announced a specific release date. Verizon will carry the 16GB and 32GB models of Samsung Galaxy S3 in marble white and pebble blue editions. AT&T will also offer the same model with additional red edition which will be made available later this summer. Pricing starts $199 which is two-year contract price of 16GB model of Galaxy S3 across both the carrier, and eventually across other cellular carriers too.
Both AT&T and Verizon Wireless didn't mention a particular release date. Instead there is just a quote that the device will release in upcoming weeks. Getting ahead of AT&T and Verizon, Sprint announced June 21 release date of Galaxy S3, while the carrier will open preorder a day earlier i.e. on June 5.
U.S. version of Galaxy S3 is unfortunately not getting the Exynos 4 1.4GHz Quad treat due to 4G LTE limitation. Instead it will pack dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor. However, fortunately, the Android super phone will come with 2GB of RAM in U.S. as compared to the international version of Galaxy S3 that packs 1GB of RAM. Samsung Galaxy S3 boasts a whopping 4.8-inch HD display. It sports 8-megapixel camera that is actually very fast in capturing photos. The Galaxy S3 runs Android 4.0 ICS with TouchWiz overlay.
Last month, preorder for the device topped 10 million, despite the fact that the preorders were only up in Europe. Finally, the device is hitting U.S. this month as all major U.S. carriers will start receiving preorder for Galaxy S3 this week. Let us see how many preorders it can receive in the country.
