Xbox One Games With Gold For January 2017 Revealed; Phil Spencer Talks About Backward Compatibility Titles
AASalvadorMicrosoft confirmed the much awaited Xbox One games with Gold for January 2017. Backwards Compatibility titles have also been teased by the Xbox chief executive Phil Spencer. A total of four titles will be added to the shelves for next month, with two new titles for Xbox One and two classic games for Xbox 360.
"World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap" is available via Xbox Games with Gold for free for the whole month of January. Its regular price is $19.67. Also for free, "Killer Instinct" Season Ultra Edition ($39.34) will be up for grabs on January 16 to February 15, 2017. Both games are exclusive to Xbox One.
Another exciting game that will be offered for free is "The Cave" ($12.28), which will be available for a shorter period, from January 1 to 15. Meanwhile, "Rayman Origins" ($14.75) will be ready for gamers on the second half of January. These two games are playable on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Looking back, Microsoft added "Super Dungeon Bros" and "Murdered Soul Suspect" in October. This month, Xbox Games with Gold included an open-world action game and a classic survival horror game. "Sleeping Dogs" Definitive Edition and "Outlast" certainly gave some gamers a real treat before the year ends.
In an interview, Spencer said that next year's first month looks pretty good for Backward Compatibility games. He also spoke about the nostalgic sentiment they bring. The Xbox chief loves the idea of bringing great games to people who were not able to play them on Xbox 360.
Gamers are still waiting for the inclusion of "Call of Duty," especially as Microsoft already added Bioshock games in its Backward Compatibility roster. On the other hand, the company also delighted its supporters with "Burnout Paradise," which was not included in the regular Xbox One offerings. Aside from the news on Xbox One with Gold, gamers will be excited to know that Microsoft is giving out more than 350 deals across games and entertainment before the year ends.
