2016 nears culmination so it is a good balance to set it with the list of much-anticipated games for next year. An effective way to do this is list down the top 3 titles from each of leading consoles. Meaning, top titles for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch respectively.

Listed as top PlayStation 4 upcoming title in 2017 is "Horizon Zero Dawn." The plot for "Horizon Zero Dawn" goes beyond the apocalyptic era where nature have already claimed the earth. Human race have reverted into a dwindling race of nomadic hunters although they have retained some of the technological wonders in weaponry. Play as Aloy in this adventure and survive the unforgiving wild lands taken by huge robotic machines.

"Horizon Zero Dawn" invades PlayStation 4 on February 28th. This Guerilla Games offering is already available through pre-orders both in physical and digital copies.

Then into Xbox One exclusive list, "Halo Wars 2" campaign starts on February as well. Play as Captain Cutter and lead a ragtag group of combatants to counter a brute force known as The Banished. "Halo Wars 2" promises a hybrid between the traditional real-time strategy and tactical gameplay.

343 Studios developed the game for Xbox One and Microsoft Studios will publish the game. This action packed treat is set to invade in 21st of February 2017.

Now for Nintendo Switch offering. "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is perhaps the most recognizable title in this list. The game is an open-world action adventure that swerved away from the original storyline of the franchise. Climb, hop, walk, ride - everything in this Nintendo Switch title offers the elements of tall fantasy so watch out.

Sadly though, there is no tentative date yet for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" apart from confirmation that it is due in mid 2017. It was originally listed as Wii U title but it is allegedly rooting for Nintendo Switch instead.
