In case you are not able to decide which quad-core android smartphone to choose among HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3, a third option is here to consider as a new quad-core rig is coming to the market this month. LG Optimus 4X HD is hitting Europe June 11 with Germany first in the line to receive the smartphone.

LG announced in a press release on Monday that it will launch the Optimus 4X HD in Germany on June 21, with other European countries including UK, Italy, Sweden and Netherlands in the line to get it shortly after. The Korean mobile major also revealed that the smartphone is coming to other markets like Asia, South Americas and Russian-oriented CIS nations, but didn't mention a specific time interval to release the device there.

"The Optimus 4X HD is fast but speed alone isn't what makes this smartphone so great. Differentiated User Experience and exclusive features LG engineers have developed for this device set this phone apart as much as it's Tegra 3 brain. With Optimus 4X HD, we've set the bar quite high for the industry and the competition," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics.

The Optimus 4X HD, as the name suggests, packs a 4.7-inch IPS display with 720p HD resolution @313ppi. The device is 8.9mm thick and weighs 133g. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. There are three capacitive keys below the screen. It runs on quad-core Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. The device has 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Offering expandable memory options, it supports microSD card sized up to 32GB. The Optimus 4X HD runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Optimus UI v3.0. The smartphone has a stationary Google search widget at the top and five row dock at the bottom of the homescreen.

LG's Optimus smartphones are well known for its photo capturing capabilities and Optimus 4X HD is on the same road. The smartphones sports 8-megapixel rear camera that can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. There is also a front facing 1.3-megapixel camera in the device. Like every Android smartphone, the Optimus 4X HD comes with supports for data friendly HSPA+ networks. Other connectivity features include Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP+LE support, assisted GPS, FM radio, NFC, microUSB v2.0, and dual-band Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA sharing and hotspot functionality. The smartphones packs a generous 2,150 mAh battery.
