The latest update for developer Studio Wildcard's open-world dinosaur game, "Ark: Survival Evolved," dubbed Patch 253, is finally live and now available for download. It contains many new exciting additional contents for the game including the Holiday-themed update and monsters for players to tame.

According to the company's released Patch Notes on Steam, the "Ark: Survival Evolved" Patch 253 will introduce five new monsters into the game: Cnidaria Omnimorph, Pegomastax Fructarator, Therizinosaurus Multiensis, Troodon Magnanimus, and the Tusoteuthis Vampyrus.

The Cnidaria and Tusotheuthis, as what the patch notes indicate, are both aquatic monsters. The former is a very large glowing jellyfish that is perfect for illuminating the player's camp and fend off any intruders coming from the water, while the latter is a relative of the vampire squid that sucks the blood of its victim undersea through its tentacles.

While the Tusotheuthis sounds really intimidating, the benefits that players can gain from this monstrous squid are rather useful. It was said there that tribesmen liked taming this monster due to its ability to produce a special ink that contains oil, which can then be turned into fuel.

Two new herbivores have also been added into the game, specifically the Pegomastax and the Therizinosaurus. Both breed of dinosaurs are quite useful when it comes to the daily needs of the players like the former is an ideal partner for scavenging while the latter is perfect for harvesting crops or plants in The Island.

Lastly, the Troodon is probably the ideal partner for fans who'd like to hunt stuff in "Ark: Survival Evolved." It is the smaller relative of the vicious raptor breed but obviously less dangerous, which arguably makes it one of the best scout breeds in the game due to its size and fast limbs.

For those who still don't have a copy of "Ark: Survival Evolved," now is the best time to grab one, as reported by PC Gamer, the popular open-world game has been added in the last sale of the year, the Steam Winter Sale 2016. It is currently priced at $12, which is a pretty good deal.
