It was also a busy year for game producers and developers from Indie to blockbuster studios and VR to mobile app who created an impact to the daily lives of people. Let us take a look back on the best 11 games that were released this year according to The Verge.
First off is "Stardew Valley", Eric Barone single handedly developed the game with the "Harvest Moon" formula with is original concepts of the quirky small-town characters, the hint of magical realism and the simple life environment. "Forza Horizon 3" lets players drive and play exotic cars that are artificially intelligent that is set in the lavish environment of Australia where players has to go through alleys, sand dunes, mountain sides, crop lands and tropical forests.
The "truly original first-person shooter", "Superhot" has a minimalistic design that makes the game's pacing faster. "No Man's Sky" also made it to the list despite its issues. This simulation game is where players have to mine rocks for hours to get fuels, looking for rare minerals for gear upgrades while discovering alien species and ancient ruins and "watching the sunset on a colorful new world".
The indie favorite, "Dishonored 2" has a unique fantasy setting that gives players the '90's immersive sim formula while they create puzzle-box worlds.
"Firewatch" that was created by a small team in 2016 about the story of Henry, a man "who lost in this history of his own life" and now works as a fire lookout at the Shoshone National forest.
"Final Fantasy XV" is an adventure game about four friends as they drive around fancy luxury cars while listening to music together. The "Limbo" successor, "Inside" about a young boy that get involves in the mystery of a factory and its disturbing experiments.
The latest "Hitman" delivers a "monstrous playgrounds" every hour of the game, where it has been to hotel resorts in Bangkok, Paris art museum and Hokkaido, Japan's medical facility.
Blizzard's "Overwatch" also makes it to the list because of its "uncommonly good characters" and lastly no need for further explanations, the mobile hit about catching creatures, "Pokemon Go."
