BlackBerry DTEK70, DTEK60 Specs, Features & Other Details; The QWERTY Keypad Makes A Comeback With The DTEK70 [VIDEO]
Vinay PatelWell ahead of its anticipated debut at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2017, BlackBerry's upcoming smartphone dubbed as DTEK70 has made an unexpected appearance online in form of leaked images.
The recently surfaced images of the BlackBerry DTEK70 hint at quite an unconventional design. The image gives a peek at the device's integrated fingerprint sensor and -- no prizes for guessing -- the QWERTY keypad! This is exactly what makes the distinction between the DTEK70 and the DTEK 50, DTEK 60 models.
While most high-end smartphones have ousted the QWERTY keypad, BlackBerry DTEK70 courageously retains one. It remains to be seen how smartphone lovers will react to BlackBerry's decision to not abandon the feature that sets it apart from other smartphones up for grabs in the market today.
BlackBerry DTEK70, DTEK60 Specs & Features
A Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor is likely to fire up the upcoming BlackBerry DTEK70 if latest reports are anything to go by. Interestingly, GeekBench benchmark does not coincide with these leaks that have been reported by AndroidHeadlines, and suggests that the DTEK70 may be powered by an octa-core processor running at 2.02 GHz, instead. Moreover, the DTEK70 will come with 3GB of RAM.
BlackBerry DTEK70 will feature a 4.5-inch curved screen. The speakers will be most probably located at the top center, while the sensors will be on the left. The device's front camera will be located on the top right corner. If reports running rampant online proved to be true, BlackBerry DTEK70 will come with an 8MP front snapper for the selfie addicts and a mammoth 18MP primary camera. It will pack a robust 3.400mAh battery, which is an apt choice for a 4.5-inches handset. But that's not all. BlackBerry DTEK70 will be running on Android 7.0 Nougat.
The DTEK60, on the other hand, sports BlackBerry's largest screen to date at 5.5-inch, and is powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset. It comes with 4GB of RAM with 32GB storage, according to MobiPicker.
In comparison, the aforesaid specs are pretty standard in most smartphones today. What sets the DTEK60 apart is its 21MP rear camera, which is also one of the best cameras in BlackBerry devices until now. Aside from that, it has a MicroSD slot that allows users to further expand the storage up to a colossal 2TB. In addition, BlackBerry DTEK60 packs a robust 3000mAh battery.
Amid cut-throat competition from top-notch smartphone makers such as Apple and Samsung, the Canadian-based tech firm have opted to outsource the development of smartphones and concentrate more on its cash cow software business.
