Cris Xander JulianoBlink, a home security device company, announced new DIY devices for homes and new monthly service plans as reported by Digital Trends.
The Blink XT was announced in December 2016, it is an Alexa-enabled outdoor smart security camera scheduled to be launched at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2017 in Las Vegas. The device is also available for pre-order for $119.
Blink was introduced as a very successful kickstarter campaign in 2014, with over one million dollars in pledges; it was one of the top crowdfunding technologies of its time.
Peter Besen, CEO of Blink, stated on the same report, "At Blink, we've created a core 'Seecurity' philosophy, meaning that the ability to see, and therefore know, exactly what is happening at home from anywhere at any time is vital to achieving true home security and peace of mind." He also stated that these offerings will help the consumers need for affordable, high quality home security to monitor their homes while they are away.
The new products under the "Seecurity" brand include:
Blink Seecurity Kits include a Starter Kit for $339 and Upgrade Kits for $149.
According to a report by The Verge, Blink's service plans, the $10 and $20 plans, will support 10 cameras which can still be used without a subscription plan, although there is a fee if you want to incorporate them with the new devices. Both plans include 4G cellular connection and are month-to-month basis with no contract.
Moreover, Blink stated that it shipped more than 250,000 cameras in 2016 which is very impressive for a startup company.
