Moto X Versions Running Android 7.1 Nougat: Spotted; Possible Implication: Other Handsets Will Be Skipping Android 7 Nougat [VIDEO]
Portia Mae M. CansancioAccording to reports, Moto X Play and Style have been spotted in GFXBench running Android 7.1 Nougat. This has made possible implication that other Motorola handsets will be skipping Android 7 Nougat.
Though Motorola did not mention about when the Moto X Style will get the Android Nougat update, it seems that it might happen sooner or later since both Moto X Style and Moto X Play were spotted on GFXBench running the Android 7.1 Nougat. This has garnered assumptions that Motorola is likely to skip Android 7 Nougat update for the two mentioned smartphones and to other selected smartphones as well, Android Headlines reported.
Moto X Style's specifications are not high-end; nevertheless, it is still capable of running Google's latest beta program, Android 7.1 Nougat as per reports. Note that Moto X Style has a QHD display with a 5.7-inch screen size, a 3GB RAM and a 64-bit hexacore power coupled with Snapdragon 808. In addition, it also includes a 21-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing one. Its body frame is made out of metal with a back cover --- replaceable with another rendition that is made out of rubber, wood, or other materials.
According to Gadgets NDTV, Moto Z smartphones were the first ones to receive the Android 7 Nougat update back in October from Motorola's global rollout of the said update roughly two months ago. Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus were the next to receive it by December and the second update rolled out to Moto Z bringing the November security patch.
Features accompanying Android 7 Nougat include some battery features such as Doze mode, multitasking, improved data saver, and refreshed notifications bundles. In addition, the company also integrated a new Moto action called Swipe functioning as to shrink the screen, according to Lenovo-owned Motorola.
