Adam Poots' 'Kingdom Of Death: Monster 1.5' Is Officially Kickstarter's Most Funded Game
Ceage Sotto"Kingdom of Death: Monster 1.5" is wrapping up its campaign in style. Adam Poots' fantasy board game is now officially Kickstarter's most funded game with a whopping $8.8 million from 16,200 backers.
Kickstarter's dedicated page for "Kingdom of Death: Monster 1.5" has confirmed the news. The cooperative nightmare horror board game is set to close its Kickstarter campaign on January 7.
Adam Poots originally set the campaign on November 25 seeking $100,000 to fund the fantasy board game. It hit the target within minutes of its campaign.
The game already had $2 million in two days. Back in November Fortune has estimated the board game to reach more than $72 million on the end of its campaign.
"Kingdom Death: Monster 1.5" is a massive co-op fantasy board game. Players must survive a hellish horror world by fighting for their lives against a plethora of terrifying creatures. The game utilizes the use of objects acquired from battles to build settlements.
Groups of players hunt for intelligent monsters and develop their own civilizations through a self-sufficient campaign. It includes an elaborate set of detailed and disturbing pieces.
Conservative gamers have already criticized the game for its sexist and misogynistic depictions of the board game's female pieces. Adam Poots returned to Kickstarter four years after securing $2 million for the original Kingdom Death.
The game's release date is set to be this year. Several of the board game's expansion packs will be distributed up to 2020.
Ouya is previously the most funded game on Kickstarter. The project raised a total of $8,596,474 from 63,416 backers. The game console is powered by an android operating system.
Hype for the Ouya quickly died out in 2013 because mainstream console makers were prepping to launch their next-gen gaming consoles. Board enthusiasts that are interested about the game can check out the video below.
